Winning the FACET Golden Guide Award was of tremendous assistance in helping us promote & gain credibility for our fledgling business back in 2004. We had been established seven years then and preparing the submission helped us focus on what it really means to be a guide and to give us clearly defined standards to live up to. This year we celebrate our 17th anniversary and are one of the few successful, small, family-owned tour companies still operating in WA.
We used all the things we have learned from guiding over the years to develop our award-winning Tour Guide Training Courses, which we ran from 2002 – 2011. Designed to help other guides strive for excellence in the profession, the courses have been ‘in limbo’ during the ‘mining boom’, but we are pleased to see that we are now receiving renewed interest from potential Tour Guides and will be offering the courses again starting later this year.
