Ancient Lands, Dark Skies, Aboriginal Cultural Tourism and Geoparks in Western Australia
March 26 @ 12:15 pm – 6:00 pm

Join FACET and our partners and sponsors for this half-day forum exploring the latest developments and opportunities provided by Western Australia’s ancient lands, night skies, Aboriginal cultural tourism and geoparks.
WA is uniquely placed to bring these niche tourism sectors together to develop world-class tourism experiences that take advantage of WA’s natural assets and add a new layer to regional tourism economies.
Our international Keynote Speaker, Helen Jansen – Board Member and Immediate Past Chair of the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Trust in New Zealand – will provide her insights on the “why and how” of creating a global geopark through her experience with the Waitaki Whitestone UNESCO Global Geopark.
Ben Beeton and Mali Moir will speak about their latest Genestreaming Journey Sculptures project and how it will bring enormous benefits and opportunities as it rolls out across WA.
Also hear the latest from Professor Ross Dowling AM – Chair of the Australian Geoparks Network; Carol Redford – founder of Astrotourism WA; Robert Taylor – CEO of WAITOC; Rennee Turner – owner/operator of Wooramulla Eco Cultural Journeys; and Mark White – Chair of the Nannup WA Geopark.
Be part of the discussion and explore how WA’s tourism industry can make the most of the opportunities provided by these initiatives.
