Future Tourism Leaders in Destination Planning

November 5, 2020 @ 12:20 pm 1:30 pm

Future Tourism Leaders in Destination Planning

Join FACET for the first of its lunchtime workshops via Zoom. We hope you will enjoy this type of event and look forward to bringing
you more on a range of topics as we move into 2021.

This event is a collaboration between FACET, Murdoch University and the Shire of Waroona. It showcases the creative thinking of final-year Murdoch University undergraduate tourism students tasked with developing a strategic management plan for a real-world tourism
destination as part of their study program.

The workshop theme is “Fresh perspectives for tourism destination strategic planning”. You will hear from students who have developed
a strategic plan combining academic research and practical engagement with key destination stakeholders. In this case study, the
client was the Waroona Visitor Centre, and you will hear from the Visitor Centre Manager as she provides her perspectives on the
results of the students’ work.

These students represent the next generation of innovative tourism professionals and this is a great opportunity to hear from the future
of tourism planning.
